On this half day sightseeing tour of the Angkor Temples, relive the glory of the great Khmer Empire and explore centuries of temples alongside your expert tour guide. Begin the day with a visit to the awe-inspiring Angkor Thom dubbed as ‘The Great City’. Within are the finest temples of King Jayavarman VII built during the late 12th and early 13th century. Starting from the Southern Gate, marvel at the imposing 23-meters high stone sculptures of the faces of Avalokiteshvara, featured in the Tomb Raider movie. Continue at the centre of the citadel wherein lies the Temple of Bayon, built at the end of the 12th century. The exterior features massive towers with serene faces carved into the gigantic stones. Engraved into its walls are bas reliefs illustrating the scenes of the Khmer people’s life and customs. Our next visits will be to the Terrace of Elephants, the Terrace of the Leper King and the 12 identical towers of Prasat Suor Prat. Conclude our half day tour visiting some of the most famous temples during the 11th century namely; the Baphuon, the Phimeanakas and other smaller temples nearby if time permits. Beenden Sie Ihre Halbtagestour mit dem Besuch einiger der bekanntesten Tempel aus dem 11. Jahrhundert, nämlich des Baphuon, des Phimeanakas und weiterer kleinerer Tempel in der Umgebung, sofern es die Zeit erlaubt. Anschließend Rücktransfer zu Ihrem Hotel.
