Arriving at Muong Hum Market, you’ll find a lively yet authentic gathering that takes place only on Sundays. Unlike more commercialized markets, this is a true local hub where ethnic communities come together to trade, socialize, and maintain long-standing traditions.
Meet and observe various ethnic groups such as the Ha Nhi, Phu La, Tu Di, Black Dao, Giay, and Red Hmong. Wander through the vibrant stalls where locals sell home-grown vegetables, fruits, livestock, and handmade goods, while dressed in their distinctive traditional attire.
After a morning immersed in the market’s lively atmosphere, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant featuring simple regional cuisine.
In the afternoon, continue your exploration with a visit to Muong Vi Caves (weather permitting). Stretching for several kilometers, these caves are adorned with striking stalactites and stalagmites, naturally sculpted over thousands of years.
