Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau Valley Experience (Lunch, Dinner)
Your journey begins at 08:30 with a scenic 3.5-hour drive from Hanoi. Travel along winding mountain roads, passing through picturesque landscapes and stopping for photos along the way.
Arrive in Mai Chau at approximately 12:00, where a refreshing welcome drink and cold towel await. Enjoy a delicious lunch showcasing local specialties, prepared with fresh ingredients such as green beans, black mushrooms, fish, and chicken, all infused with traditional Muong and Thai ethnic flavors.
At 15:30, set out on a 2-hour cycling tour through the tranquil valley. Pedal along quiet village paths, across vibrant rice paddies, and into the countryside, gaining insight into the daily life of local ethnic communities.
Optional:
Replace the afternoon cycling with a 4.5-hour cycling and rock-climbing adventure starting at 13:00 (surcharge applies).
In the evening at 19:00, enjoy a delightful dinner at the lodge. Later, at 20:30, experience a traditional cultural performance by local Muong and Thai artists. Their graceful dances and folk songs vividly portray village life, agricultural traditions, and romantic folklore—an enchanting highlight of your stay.
Day 2: Cave Exploration & Village Immersion (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Begin your day at 08:00 with a hearty international breakfast at Bo Luong Restaurant, offering panoramic views of the lake, rice fields, and swimming pool.
At 09:00, visit the fascinating Mo Luong Cave, located opposite the lodge. Stretching over 500 meters beneath Pu Kha Mountain, the cave features four impressive chambers and is steeped in local myths and legends.
Continue at 10:00 with a guided walking tour to a H’mong village, where you will gain deeper insight into the authentic lifestyle, traditions, and culture of this ethnic community. At 12:30, enjoy a picnic lunch in the village surrounded by peaceful natural scenery. Afterwards, return to the lodge by vehicle or opt to have lunch at the lodge instead.
Alternative Option:
The day’s program can be adjusted to include either a trekking experience or a kayaking excursion on Hoa Binh Reservoir, depending on your preference.
In the evening at 19:00, indulge in another delicious dinner at the lodge.
Day 3: Village Walk & Return to Hanoi (Breakfast)
After breakfast at 08:00, continue your cultural exploration with a leisurely walk at 09:00 to the Thai ethnic villages of Pom Coong and Lac. These charming villages are known for their traditional stilt houses, handicrafts, and welcoming local communities.
Return to the lodge at 11:30. Lunch is available at the hotel (not included in the package).
At 13:30, depart Mai Chau and relax on the journey back to Hanoi, bringing your memorable countryside escape to a close.
