After breakfast, meet your guide and driver at Lao Cai Railway Station and begin your journey toward Coc Ly. The drive takes you along peaceful countryside roads, passing rice paddies, rural villages, and scenic valleys before reaching the market at its most vibrant time.
Set beside the banks of the Chay River, Coc Ly Market comes alive every Tuesday morning as ethnic groups from surrounding areas gather to trade goods and connect. Among them are the Flower Hmong, Black Dao, and Tay. Wander through the colorful stalls filled with fresh produce, livestock, textiles, and handmade items, while observing the vibrant traditional costumes and lively exchanges that define this unique cultural gathering.
After exploring the market, embark on a relaxing boat cruise downstream along the Chay River. As you glide through calm waters, admire the striking scenery of limestone formations, hidden caves, and tranquil riverside villages. This peaceful journey offers a different perspective of the region’s natural beauty and daily life along the riverbanks.
Lunch will be served either on a quiet riverbank beach or later in a local village, depending on conditions and timing.
Along the way, you may stop at Trung Do Village, home to the Tay ethnic group. Visit a traditional stilt house, enjoy a cup of tea, and learn about the customs and lifestyle of the local community.
Continue cruising until you reach Bao Nhai Bridge, where your vehicle will be waiting for the return transfer to Lao Cai.
Note: In case water levels are not suitable for the boat trip, the program will be adjusted to include a traditional buffalo cart ride in Trung Do Village, offering a charming alternative experience.
