Your guide and driver will meet you at your hotel for an early departure to Hue. The journey takes approximately 3 hours, including a scenic drive over the Hai Van Pass (Ocean Cloud Pass), one of Vietnam’s most spectacular coastal roads. From the summit, enjoy panoramic views of mountains, coastline, and the East Sea.
Upon arrival in Hue, begin your exploration at the Imperial Citadel, the historic seat of the Nguyen Dynasty. Enter via a grand stone bridge and discover the majestic Thai Hoa Palace, where emperors once held official ceremonies. Continue through the complex to explore the remains of the Forbidden Purple City, once reserved exclusively for the royal family.
Next, visit the iconic Thien Mu Pagoda, perched gracefully along the banks of the Perfume River. Admire the elegant seven-story Phuoc Duyen Tower, a symbol of Hue, and learn about the pagoda’s important role in Vietnam’s Buddhist history, including its
connection to historic events.
Enjoy a relaxing lunch at a local restaurant, sampling traditional Vietnamese cuisine.
After lunch, continue to the peaceful Tomb of Emperor Tu Duc, set amidst pine forests and tranquil lakes. Known for its harmonious design and poetic atmosphere, this complex reflects the emperor’s refined taste and contemplative lifestyle.
Proceed to the striking Tomb of Khai Dinh, dramatically located on the slopes of Chau Chu Mountain. Unlike other royal tombs, it features a unique fusion of traditional Vietnamese and European architectural styles, with intricate mosaics and elaborate interior
decoration.
In the late afternoon, begin your return journey to Da Nang via the Hai Van Tunnel, the longest tunnel in Vietnam, offering a faster and more comfortable route back. Arrive at your hotel in the evening.
